A journey through Italian enterprise: the “A scuola d’Impresa” (At the school of business) project

We are delighted to share with you a project that combines history, culture and innovation, born of a collaboration between Museimpresa, LIUC Heritage Hub and the Archives of Industrial Cinema and Business Communication. The project “At the school of business. Italy in our museums and business archives” is intended to raise awareness among secondary school students of the values and stories that have marked the evolution of Italian business, while also offering them the opportunity to develop transverse skills that will help them in their professional future.

An opportunity for growth for students

The course consists of two parts: a theoretical part, with online activities to acquire a basic knowledge of Italian business history, and a practical part, which takes place at one of the business archives and museums participating in the project. Here, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves directly in the business world, coming into contact with historical documents, objects and stories that tell of the evolution of Italian companies. The project culminates in the realisation of a final Project, which gives the students the chance to apply what they have learnt in practice.

Our contribution: a creative experience with the SDF Historical Archive

During the 2023-2024 academic year, the students of class 4ETG of the Zenale-Butinone Institute in Treviglio, specialising in graphics and communication, actively participated in the project, producing a series of posters to mark the 20th anniversary of the SDF Historical Archive (2004-2024). Through a guided tour of the archive and an in-depth study of its history, students had access to a wide selection of historical documents, including photographs, drawings and advertising campaigns.

This experience allowed them to understand the importance of corporate memory and to creatively put the information they had access to into use to recount the historical, cultural and social value of the SDF Historical Archive. The end result is a series of posters that not only celebrate 20 years of the archive, but also highlight its legacy and contribution to the industrial and cultural history of our country.

A project that looks to the future

The “At the school of business” initiative is a concrete example of how collaboration between schools, cultural institutions and companies can offer new opportunities for learning and growth to younger generations, bringing them closer to the world of business and industrial heritage.
