A passion becomes an industry (1942-1973)

1942

After many years of experience designing advanced diesel engines and injection pumps, the Cassani brothers found SAME (Società Accomandita Motori Endotermici) in Treviglio.

1943

The first projects are completed on industrial and marine diesel engines (MID 1151 – MID 1152 – MIDO 1151 – MIDO 1152) and on industrial and agricultural petrol engines (MIB 701 – MIB 751 – MIB 851 – T 901 and MIB 752).

1946

Italian agriculture needs modern farm equipment to become more efficient and profitable. From this date onwards, the engines produced by the Cassani brothers begin to be fitted on tractors.

1952

Launch of the forced air cooling engine series DA 1101 – DA 1102 – DA 1103 – DA 1104.

1959

Launch of the forced air cooling engine series DA 1151 – DA 1152 – DA 1153 – DA 1154.

1961

Launch of the V-series of forced air cooling engines with 2-3-4-6-8 paired cylinders, for tractors and trucks for industrial and civil use.

1968

Launch of the L-series of forced air cooling engines with in-line cylinders.

1973

Launch of the P-series of forced air cooling engines with 2-3-4-5-6 in-line cylinders and immersed injection pumps.
