Technology far and wide (1976-2020)

1976

The company ADIM (Diesel engine applications) is founded.

1979

The first 1056 PTI “non-road” engine with turbo/intercooler is unveiled.

1983

Launch of the 916 series of engines with air and water cooling.

1989

Launch of the 1000 series of engines with air and water cooling and electronic injection regulation.

1995

SAME takeover of DEUTZ-FAHR.

1998

SAME engines are used at the Italian scientific base in Antarctica for the production of electricity 24/7, 365 days/year (left unattended for six months/ year), reconfirming their extraordinary reliability and durability. Launch of the 1000 series of 3, 4 and 6-cylinder air and water-cooled engines, with exhaust emissions in line with both European and US Stage I/Tier I standards. This result is achieved through modifications to the combustion system, combined with an injection pressure of 600 bar.
Launch of the 1000.6 WT R.I.S.E. Technology engine with 3 valves per cylinder (two intake and one exhaust), 5-hole vertical injector and a maximum power of 200 HP/2350 rpm, which complies with European and US Stage I / Tier I emissions standards.

2003

The Group becomes majority shareholder of DEUTZ AG, a leading independent manufacturer of industrial diesel engines. Launch of the 1000 series of 3, 4 and 6-cylinder air and water-cooled engines, with exhaust emissions in line with both European and US Stage II/Tier II standards. This series of engines features various major changes over the Stage I / Tier predecessors, including the new combustion system and 1200-bar injection system, along with new engine blocks and cylinder heads that significantly reduce oil consumption, as well as cutting noise emissions from the engine by 2 dBA.

2008

Launch of the 1000 series of 3, 4 and 6-cylinder air and water-cooled engines, with exhaust emissions in line with both European and US Stage IIIA/Tier III standards. An internal exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR-I) is introduced on this series of engines, as well as the cold advance injection function, via electronically-controlled hydraulic tappets (HRT).

2014

Launch of the new FARMotion series of 3 and 4 cylinder engines that combine extremely advanced combustion control technology, such as the 2000-bar Common Rail injection system, with a tractor-focused design, featuring reduced dimensions, removable cylinder barrels and compact, reliable exhaust gas post-treatment systems. Right from the outset, the 3 and 4 cylinder FARMotion engines are hailed as a benchmark for the market in terms of performance specifics (the 4-cylinder 3.8-litre engine delivers a maximum power of 136 hp/2000 rpm and a maximum torque of 540 Nm), operating economy and reduced need for maintenance. The FARMotion 3 and 4 cylinder engines also comply with European and US Stage IV / Tier 4 emission regulations.
