SAME tractors name a “historic brand” in Italian industry

Treviglio (Bergamo, Italy), 26 February 2024 – The SAME tractor brand has made history in Italian industry by entering the special Register of Historic Brands of National Significance. The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy established the register to recognise and safeguard outstanding brands that have been in operation for over 50 years and have strong ties to Italy.

Drawing on its well preserved and organised collection, the SDF Historical Archives has demonstrated the continuous use of the trademark from 1972 to today.

For each year, documents clearly showing the trademark were provided to the Ministry as evidence, including adverts, technical documents, letterheads and contracts.

The official national recognition further enhances the value of the SAME brand, whose red tractors have been at the forefront of Italian agricultural mechanisation for over 80 years.

The SAME lettering on documents and tractor nameplates has evolved over time, shifting from square to rounded shapes and recently returning to a more traditional style. In the 1980s, the SAME brand adopted the four-eyed tiger logo to represent four-wheel drive. Giorgetto Giugiaro redesigned and updated the logo that continues to set SAME tractors apart, giving it a fresh look in 2012.
